The Companies (Restriction on Number of Layers)

The Companies (Restriction on Number of Layers) Rules, 2017 were introduced to prevent complex multi-layered corporate structures and promote transparency in company ownership.

These rules work in line with Section 186(1) of the Companies Act, 2013, which limits the number of investment layers a company can have.
